Location: Whitney Sawmills, Herefordshire

Salary: £20,000+ (National Minimum Wage depending on age)

Hours of work: 40 hours a week

Contract: Temporary

Job Description

The dry timber sales assistant role is to assist preparing orders alongside the timber sales staff.

  • Prepare loads for delivery.

  • Load and unload lorries.

  • Oversee the storage of all timber stock, including intermediate stock checks as well as annual stock check in June.

  • Maintain all storage of timber, so that timber is well looked after and easily identifiable including regrading timber.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain timber stocks in an orderly manner and that all stock is easily identifiable.

  • Making sure all timber stacks are stacked neatly and safely.

  • Unload lorries with deliveries and making sure that all inputs of timber are communicated to the office so that stock records are updated.

  • Load lorries for deliveries making sure all goods are cross referenced with delivery notes.

  • Assist in preparing orders for customers.

  • Keep yard and sales shed clean and tidy.

  • Re-grading all timber packs so that stock is correctly described.

 

About You

You will be personable, with a can do attitude.

 

Benefits and More Details

Salary – £20,000 + per year (National Minimum Wage depending on age).

Hours of Work – 40 hours per week.

Term – 1 year fixed term contract with 1 month probationary period.

Support – Up to 20 days paid release to attend fully funded CPD training (To the value of £2,000).

Training will be provided for the use of forklifts.

Regular progress reviews with the RFS and employer.

There is access to a £300 relocation grant available upon request from RFS.
